My POD!

Yesterday I decided that I would only listen to my ipod on shuffle since I have over 4,000 songs and listen to the same albums over and over. I quickly found myself skipping to the next song repeatedly while I was driving because I didn't want to listen to what was playing. Then a song that I love came on that I hadn't listened to in a long time. This song started to stir up memories of when I would be listening to this song. Everyone has an item or two that when they look at it strikes up a memory from their past. Most of the time that is why people keep certain items for a long time. For me music holds all of my memories since I always have it playing, whether in my car, while cutting grass, or just lounging around at home.

When I was in college, my parents lived 10 hours away and I would have my ipod blaring the whole drive. I am the type of person who makes playlists by album, not by song. So i would compile a list of albums that would last 10 hours and listen/sing the whole way there. I literally mean the whole way there. When I would arrive at my parents house, they would laugh at me because I would be hoarse from singing 10 hours straight. So when ever I hear a song that was in that playlist it takes me back to the good ole days. If you were to play a song from my ipod, I could probably tell you what was going on in my life the day I listened to that song. I could tell you what the weather was like, where I lived, who I was dating, who I was mad at, where I worked, who was in my car with me, etc.

With all of that said I thought I would share some of my favorite albums that were on the playlist. If you have never listened to these albums, please look them up on itunes and give them a listen or just click on them.

The Playlist:

1. Direction by The Starting Line

2. One Fell Swoop by The Spill Canvas

3. We Don't Need To Whisper by Angels and Airwaves

5.Paper Walls by Yellowcard

6. Coming Home by New Found Glory

7. A Lesson In Romantics by Mayday Parade

8. Before Everything and After by MxPx

Why I Love Baseball... or....Welcome To The Family

This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to go to the Diamondbacks Cubs game with some friends, and it was a blast. What made this game even more fun was that it was the first baseball game I took my fiance to. The whole ride up to the stadium I just talked her ear off about how much fun she was going to have and told her baseball is like a family. I explained that Basketball is a sport about ego, Football is a sport about being macho, and Baseball is about family. She didn't understand but I knew she soon would.

We had a great time at the game. We ate cheap hot dogs and just enjoyed friends. While we were getting food she noticed that people were high fiving me and giving me nods and asked "what was that all about," to which I replied, "Family." I was wearing my Boston Red Sox hat and other sox fans were just giving their respects. Well after the game we walked past the bars as all of the cubbies fans were celebrating their huge win against the D-Backs, and they start talking to us. This one guy, who noticed my hat, told us its all about believing in something and that Boston had 2004 and the cubs will have 09. He then went on to tell us about his amazing wife and started crying and then said go cubs and walked off. Kristen commented that that was a little weird, to which I just smiled. Then that guys nephew who was super drunk, started talking to us. He asked what Kristen did for a living after he found out that she was native Arizonian, and she told him that she was a teacher. This started an hour long conversation because he was a teacher as well. He went off on how students don't do homework and how they don't realize that they are hurting themselves in the long run. As we were rescued by a friend, the guy yelled Go Cubbies, and walked away. I then hugged Kristen and said that is what baseball is all about...Family.

Actual Grindle Thoughts

Now I know I am not the best at being consistent with my blog, but believe me I am working on it. It just seems like my life is not full of those amazing moments to which I respond with, "Oh I can't wait to put that on my Blog." So I am starting fresh. I will try my hardest to at least put up two entries a week. So raise your glasses, and take a swig, as you join me on the journey of randomness that is my Life. This is the Blog of Jason Grindle.

Here are some random thoughts that I have had today.

1. I wonder if soap is really made how Brad Pitt explains it in Fight Club. (This thought occurred while in the shower.)

2. It's sort of funny how much it sucks when you can't find that one deodorant that you always buy. (This thought derives from when I went to buy deodorant on Monday and Walmart didn't have my type and scent in stock. Instead of just buying a different scent, I ended scrapping my pit with the plastic of what was left of my stick. Don't worry I found my Old Spice Red Zone Pure Sport in a walmart on Gilbert and Germann.)

3. How come Night Crawler wasn't in the third X-men movie. He is one of the best X-men there is and he such a huge role in the second film, but never made into The Last Stand. (This thought came to me as I was thinking about being a super-hero and counting down the day until X-men Origins comes out next Friday.)

4. Why are tootsie rolls so Great;and if it is not chocolate then what is it? (I was eating a tootsie roll.)

5. Hahahaha That is hilarious! (This thought came to me as I drove to work and saw a middle-aged man with a neck brace jogging with a chihuahua.)

I hope this thoughts from my brain have put a smile on your face and have caused you to have some random thoughts of your own. If so post some of your random thoughts as a comment to this blog entry.

I am Engaged...(Somethings are better than mustaches)

So I know this is super late, but I thought let everyone know that I am engaged to the most awesome girl in the world. My fiance' has a name and it is Kristen Moore and she is great. Here is the story of our engagement.

I bought her ring on Thursday and Proposed on Friday. When she got off of work I took her to Red Robbin, then to see Monsters VS ALiens in 3D, which was hilarious by the way, then to the tempe town lake. I had stored the ring in my hoodie and placed it in my trunk before I got her, so I went to get it when we parked at the lake. SHe laughed at me while I was putting hoodie on and said I was being really awkward about it, but she had no idea. Then we walked to the lake which took forever due to some festival that was going on and we sat at the place where she told me she loved me and talked. Unable to wait any longer i cut her off and asked her what her favorite moment of our relationship was, to which she said hanging out. Then I told her to be more specific and then she said I don't know what is yours. Then I presented her with the awesome ring and said this one. Her response was a hit on the arm and then she told me to shut up, not what I was looking for but i knew she was excited. Then she said Yes!

That is how it went down, if you ask her the story will have more of an awww factor than I am able to create.

Kristen I love You!

The Mustache!

Throughout history there have been a number of great men who have sported the mustache and I am proud to be in that group!

Don't be jealous of my childlike awesomeness!

So I have received a couple of not so nice comments about my last post where I showed a picture of a toy that I put in my office. This picture was of a collector's item: The Hatch from LOST Season 1. This is my favorite show and I thought that this was cool, plus it lights up, so I got it. Well since I put one picture up of a toy in my office I figured that I would show the rest: Batman stuff and Ricky Bobby.
